Making Him Known
Christ First encompasses the heart of discipleship. To put Christ first is to take up your cross, whatever you calling is, and follow Him (Matt. 16:24). Having a Christ-centered life is our true calling, and we can experience this through personal worship/devotional time. Everything in the Christian life should revolve around our relationship with Christ. He is the Be All and End All, the Alpha and Omega (Rev. 22:13). A life centered on Him is a life in balance.
Knowing Him calls us to branch out from our personal relationship with Christ and into an ever growing understanding of God the Father through the teaching and worship ministries of the church. Thus, we know Him more through our worship, and we communicate our love to Him through our worship (Rom. 12:1-2). In addition, through the teaching and preaching ministries of the church we can gain a deeper knowledge of God (1 Cor. 1:21), which should inspire us to make Him known!
Making Him Known is our response to the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20). We are compelled to spread the knowledge that God has placed in us through His Holy Spirit. We make Him known through the fellowship of love in our congregation and through outreach activities in Lubbock, in Texas, in the United States, and throughout the world (Mark 12:31).
